Go read

I know this will come as no surprise but we love books here at Nightgig Studios. We almost universally love Terry Pratchett and I’m here to try and help you read at least one Discworld book. Terry liked to mix humor with a solid moral lesson. Not in any kind of preachy way but in a “of course decent people do this” type of way.

In I shall wear midnight he writes “Evil begins when you begin to treat people as things”.

This part of Discworld follows a young witch (Tiffany Aching) who is wise beyond her age. I would (and will be) recommending this part of the book series to everyone and especially young girls. Start with “The Wee Free Men” and laugh and learn.

That’s also the best part with Discworld. Pick a section and start. its a world not a single story. Pick a part and dig in. I started with Going Postal and went back and read Guards Guards before I discovered Color of Magic.

I think I will be re-reading this series the rest of my life.

Change the world!

I made this as kind of a gag back in 2016 but it’s stuck with me. I really do want to encourage you all to change the world for the better but I also want you all to take care of yourself.

Before you start your quest did you think it through. Is there a safer route that gets you to the goal in better shape.

Stretch yourself and reach! You can do more than you think.

Did you bring your eye protection? The world is going to slam you with imagery and imitation that has nothing to do with reality.

Protect your ears. Remember to listen carefully to what people say. If they sound like they are making you a great deal make them clarify it and put it in writing.

Welcome to the New Year

Hello humans and non-humans. Welcome to the new year. It’s crazy that Nightgig is still here and in fact showing more life than it has in the past. If you are a long time follower please reach out. I want to know what you’re working on. Think of this as a class reunion, only for people you like.

JT says he has picked up his Uke again and I’m hoping to hear him Play.

Scott is back to posting comics.

I see you all out there and I know you’re still creative.
